Form distinctively identifiable to that period. Iron with double eye terminals and single remaining buckle. The sides are ridged, transitioning to bordered flat with intricate addorsed scalloped/curved members at the transition. Top with delicate scrolled crest. 2 1/4" shank with six-point rowel. The shank length was used prior to fully evolved horse armor and dating this example to that period. Detail well preserved with minimal oxidation for the period. Ex.
